May 14, 2014
KALAMAZOO – Total Plastics, Inc., is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Tolimieri as its new Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Mike will be responsible for leading the company’s sales and marketing initiatives as well as continuing to drive its exponential growth.
Mike comes to Total Plastics with nearly two decades of experience in the plastic industry and a proven record for accelerating revenue growth, growing market share and fortifying strategic partnerships.
“First and foremost, we’re excited to welcome Mike to Total Plastics,” said Tom Garrett, President of Total Plastics, Inc. “He comes to us with a proven track record of sales leadership and can immediately support and advance our strategic, long-term growth goals.”
“When this opportunity presented itself, I immediately recognized it as a perfect fit for both myself and Total Plastics,” Mike said. “This is an opportunity for me to work for a well-known and well-run organization. I am able to bring years of knowledge in plastics distribution and fabrication. I’ll leverage that to broaden our scope and open some doors that maybe haven’t been accessible before.”
Mike comes to Total Plastics from Cope Plastics, a Midwest-based plastics distributor and fabricator, where he most recently served as its Director of Sales. While in that role, he spearheaded efforts that resulted in double digit growth in both revenue and gross profit, successfully developed and directed strategies for new market initiatives, grew market share with top accounts and strengthened relationships with strategic vendor partners. Prior to taking on the Director of Sales position in 2007, he served as Cope’s Market Manager, overseeing sales of acrylic, polycarbonate and PETG.
Tolimieri earned his Bachelor of Arts from Arizona State in 1991. He entered into the plastics industry in 1994 by way of Bayer Material Science, first serving as a Territory Manager for central U.S. and then as Regional Sales Manager. As Territory Manager, he more than doubled sales revenue in less than three years, helping him earn salesman of the year honors in 1996 and 1997. As Regional Manager, he grew Bayer’s market in the Western U.S. and across Canada.
